Mary Edly-Allen is a mother, educator, and proven Democratic leader committed to building power from the ground up. Mary proudly serves as State Senator for Illinois’ 31st District, President of Lake County Democratic Women, and candidate for Democratic State Central Committeewoman for Illinois’ Tenth Congressional District.

A strong believer in grassroots democracy, Mary is focused on strengthening the Democratic Party by recruiting, training, and supporting candidates at the local level. She understands that winning elections starts in our communities and that lasting change comes from empowering people to run, organize, and lead.

Mary views our Democratic Party as a movement capable of reshaping power and expanding opportunity. As the former Executive Director of Lake County Democratic Women, she worked tirelessly to elect more Democratic women to local and state office. As our next Democratic State Central Committeewoman, Mary wants to build on this success and continue to lead by example, fighting for the values that unite us and amplifying Democratic voices throughout northern Illinois.
