Mary Edly-Allen Has A Plan to Make Our Party Better.

Why Mary is Running:

Mary Edly-Allen is running for Democratic State Central Committeewoman because she believes our party is strongest when we build from the bottom up, by investing in people, building our bench, and doing the hard, on-the-ground work that wins elections.

Mary has spent years doing the hands-on work of building Democratic victories. Most recently, as President of the Lake County Democratic Women, Mary helped recruit, train, and support 13 candidates running for local office—10 of whom won their elections. Several of those once first-time candidates now serve as mentors to new Democrats stepping forward to run.

This kind of mentorship is how we create a sustainable, winning party and a strong bench for the future.

Mary believes deeply that candidates win when they are given the tools, training, and confidence to succeed. That includes understanding that elections are won through a strong ground game, by knocking doors, having real conversations with our neighbors, and showing up in our communities. Mary doesn’t just talk about organizing. She live it, having volunteered and personally trained new Democrats and knocked on doors alongside them.

Mary is not afraid to stand up for what is right and knows that our Democratic party must be more inclusive and intentional in how it organizes and communicate. She brings the unique experience of having challenged party leadership when she believed our voices were being sidelined and silenced. Strong parties grow when they welcome accountability, honest dialogue, and new ideas.

As State Central Committeewoman, Mary will continue working to strengthen our grassroots organizing, support candidates at every level, and build a party that is inclusive, principled, and focused on winning elections

Mary’s Priorities for our Democratic Party:

For far too long, the current system has favored political insiders over community voices. Mary Edly-Allen is running for Democratic State Central Committeewoman to break that cycle. She believes our party and government is strongest when it belongs to the people.

As Democratic State Central Committeewoman, Mary will focus on:

  • Building a Stronger Democratic Bench: Mentoring the next generation of leaders to ensure we have a deep pool of talent with fresh ideas ready to run in local, state, and national elections.

  • Bottom-Up Organizing: Moving away from "top-down" politics to empower grassroots organizers, volunteers, and everyday people who are working to lift up our communities.

  • Unwavering Values: Ensuring the party remains a fierce advocate for affordability for working families, lower health care costs, reproductive health care access, and common-sense gun safety.
